Saumur Champigny Bavardages is a red wine produced by Jeanne Germain, the daughter of the legendary Thierry, in Varrains, in the Loire Valley. It is made from Cabernet Franc grapes from the varied soils of Chaintres, Varrains and Saumur. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and 3 weeks' maceration in wood, followed by 7 months' ageing in barriques. It is bottled without the addition of sulphur dioxide, clarification or filtration. Ripe berries and black spices on the nose, fresh and crisp in the mouth.
