Clos Fornelli is on the eastern side of Corisica, near Italy, and the vineyards here are cooler and give fresher wines and those better known and more often visited. This is 100% Vermentino done in big, old, barrels and cement eggs, and it starts with aromas of peach, fresh citrus and sarsaparilla. The palate is sleek and vibrant, with a nice sense of sharpness on the attack followed by a fuller, rounder, middle freshened by the crisp, tight, finish. There's a lot of layered complexity here with notes of lemon pulp, ginger and star fruit lingering nicely. Great seafood and cooling off wine!
