Phantasm is a hop-driven hazy pale ale made in collaboration with Battle of BC, an international esports event here in Vancouver. This partnership brings together the world of esports and craft beer, creating a unique connection between the two communities. For this beer, Freestyle's Mega Motueka was used — a late harvest of Motueka hops blended with their thiol precursor Phantasm. This combination results in intense tropical fruit and deep citrus flavors, providing a bold and aromatic profile. It’s then fermented with WHC Lab's Pineapple Passion yeast, which adds fruity notes, especially pineapple. Additionally, it’s dry-hopped with a wombo combo of Motueka and Nelson Sauvin, enhancing the beer's tropical aromas without introducing excessive bitterness. The result is a beer that offers a true sensory experience for your tastebuds, taking you to a tropical "dreamland," with the possibility of getting pineappled in the process.
